In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter with eggs until creamy. Gradually add the milk while continuing to mix. Slowly add the dry ingredients from the first bowl into the wet mixture, stirring until combined. Gently fold in the diced apples and ground cinnamon to create a uniform batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula. For the topping, mix light brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter. Drizzle melted butter over the top.
Bake the cake in the preheated oven for approximately 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy!
