In another mixing bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, light brown sugar, Dr. Oetker Vanilla Sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix well. Add the cold, diced butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the topping mixture evenly over the apple filling in the baking dish. Make sure to cover the apples completely to create a nice, even layer.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender. Allow the Apple Crisp to cool for a few minutes before serving.
